Charter Review 2018

Tena Koutou,

We are undertaking a review of the Te Huruhi School charter, and as valued members of our school community, we would like your input via a short, anonymous survey.

We appreciate that everyone is busy, so we want to provide you with several ways in which you can provide your input. Our intention is that the BOT receives feedback from a broad range of the community on the charter, including all of our strategic goals, hopefully without taking too much of your time.

There are currently four strategic goals included in our charter:

Goal 1
E ngākaunui ana mātou o te kura o Te Huruhi ki ngā āhuatanga katoa o ia tamaiti kia hōhonu, kia whānui ōna wheako akoranga katoa.
At Te Huruhi School we are committed to all students experiencing rich learning in a personalised, differentiated way

Goal 2
Ka puta atu a mātou tamariki mai i te kura me te mātua mōhio ko wai rātou, nō hea rātou, kia tū pakari ai rātou ki roto i te hāpori, otirā i te ao whānui.
Our children will leave our school knowing who they are and their sense of place in the world and local community.

Goal  3
Ka matatau a mātou tamariki ki te pupuri i ngā pūkenga ako ā-reo, ā-tuhi, ā-pāngarau, ā-pūtaiao, ā-toi hoki.
Our children will be Literate and Numerate with lifelong learning skills in Science and the Arts. Goal 4
Tautoko i ngā ākonga katoa ki te whakawhanake me te whakapakari tētahi tuapapa kia ora ai te tuakiritanga hei tautoko te whakatutuki i ngā marau katoa o Te Kura o Te Huruhi, kia whakauru te reo māori, ōna tikanga me ngā hītori o Aotearoa hei taonga whakahirahira mō tō tātou kura, te taiao me te marautanga.
Support all learners to develop a strong foundation and sense of identity that supports wellbeing and achievement across all areas of Te Huruhi Primary School’s curriculum, and to value, recognise and be inclusive of Te Reo, Tikanga Māori and the history of Aotearoa as important aspects of our school culture, environment and curriculum.

We have created three surveys (see links below), one for each of strategic goals 1 through 3, with each including some general questions, and a question relating to our fourth strategic goal. Participants are invited to submit responses to any or all of the surveys, but we are asking parents of children in each of our 3 school teams (Earth, Sea and Sky) to provide a response at least to the survey that has been allocated to their corresponding school team as outlined below.

Thank you for your time and for engaging in the consultation process.  We look forward to your feedback, suggestions and recommendations.

Nga Mihi

Adam Cels

Principal, on behalf of the Te Huruhi School Board of Trustees
