Help Heat the Pool

Dear Parents/Caregivers

HELP US HEAT TE HURUHI POOL - MAKE A SPLASH! Campaign

I'm writing to you as the Chairwoman of the Waiheke Pool Society and the mum of a 12 year old who first learnt to swim at the Te Huruhi Pool aged 5.

Watching her and her peers trying to learn to swim, in wet suits with blue lips, was the catalyst for forming the society to make a difference and get a proper warm pool for our kids to learn in.
The dream is for an indoor aquatic facility but it's a long way off. After working on the project for 4 years we want to do something positive in the interim and do it now.

With your help we can heat the pool at Te Huruhi, get it ready for use this spring and heat it for at least 6 months of the year.

All our children will benefit so much from this - swimming lessons on the island for 6 months of the year is a huge step forward. And our kids will be safer, stronger and happier in the water for the rest of their lives.

I know as a mum how hard it is, living on the island, trying to make ends meet, always being asked to contribute to good causes. But we can't heat the pool without you. Whatever you can do, large or small, will make a difference.

Here are two ways you can help:

     1. Buy a ticket to the fundraising night at Batch Winery 31st August. $50 gets you a glass of wine, canapés and a great community night out.
Buy Your Tickets before Midnight on Saturday 25th of August and you'll go in the draw for a chance to win a Waiheke BP fuel voucher worth $200!
(Please don't think you have to bid at the auction. Just buying a ticket and attending this fun night means you'll be making a difference).

      2. Make a donation on our Give A Little page.  Any donation, large of small will help.
NEWS JUST IN TODAY! An anonymous donor has gifted us $5000 via The Gift Trust!

Thank you so much in advance for your support. We can't wait to get the heaters installed and the kids making a splash in a warm pool this year!
